Downhole experiments on synthetic fluid inclusion logging were conducted in 1995 in order to measure temperatures at the NEDO research well WD-1a; Kakkonda geothermal field, Japan. Fluid inclusions were successfully synthesized in most samples placed in the well for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days and 3 months. Differences between peak temperature values determined from liquid-vapor homogenization of fluid inclusions and those measured by conventional logging tool are generally within 5{degrees}C. Thermally cracked crystals of quartz in a silica-saturated NaOH solution, resulted in rapid synthesis of fluid inclusions through crack healing at temperatures higher than 250{degrees}C, in a minimum of one day. Primary inclusions also formed in the overgrowth rim of quartz crystals when the sample was placed under conditions above 325{degrees}C.
