IEA Task V: Sustainability of geothermal energy utilization

Conference ·
OSTI ID:494367
Worldwide, people are increasingly realizing that the earth`s natural resources must be used in a sustainable way if human society is to survive in the long term. There is considerable argument about the renewability and sustainability of production from geothermal resources. Yet, to realize the full potential of these valuable, clean resources, a better understanding of the issue of sustainability is important. If successful, the present study will help provide a better understanding of the sustainability of geothermal production, both worldwide and for centuries in the future. This study is still in the formative process, and will benefit from the considered help of the many bright scientists working on geothermal resources around the world.
