Release of fission products in extreme incidents in nuclear reactors (in German)
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4940034
Evaluation of the release of fission products from a reactor in the event of a catastrophic accident is limited to the consideration of pressurized and boiling water reactors, damaged as a result of sabotage or war. The maximum credible accident for these reactor types is described. The fission product activity accumulated in the fuel elements is evaluated. The activity of individual nucides is calculated. The release of the fission products from the fuel elements to the containment vessel is then considered, and the time variation of the activity in the containment vessel after the accident is calculated. The release rate from the containment vessel to the atmosphere and the activity released are evaluated. (JSR)
