Creep-rupture behavior of Inconel 625 in three different pretreatments (in German)

OSTI ID:4939674
The creep and time-to-rupture behavior of Inconel 625 was investigated in the temperature range 650 to 800 deg C. Three different thermomechanical pretreatments were employed: I = hot rolled flnish; II = 870 deg C anneal; III = solutlon treatment. The temperature range of this study is for samples which have undergone treatment I and II well above the temperatures normally employed. Results show an anomalous stress dependence of creep and time-to-rupture at around 750 deg C. The reason is to be found in the very complex precipitation processes occurring while the stress is applied. Results are explained according to newer findings about precipitation in this type of alloy. (28 figures) (auth)
