Evaluation of the contamination of drinking water reservoirs by fallout from nuclear explosions and extreme reactor incidents (in German)

The methods and assumptions used in the evaluation of the contamination to be expected from nuclear explosions and reactor incidents are outlined. The fission product concentration in water as a result of each of these incidents is evaluated and the results are shown graphically. The radiological significance of water contamination is discussed by an evaluation of the danger coefficient and the factors affecting it. The significance of the study results with respect to the availability of drinking water is evaluated. (JSR)
