ABS>From symposium on the recovery of uranium; Sao Paulo, Brazil (17 Aug 1970). Several alternative schemes were evaluated for the extraction and separation of the uranium, molybdenum and vanadium values of sulfuric acid leach liquors. The work was conducted in connection with the development of an acid leaching process for the uranium-molybdenum ore from the Pocos de Caldas plateau in the State of Minas Gerais. Extraction conditions for uranium were established from data obtained from pure solutions and extrapolated to the leach liquors after investigation of effects in binary and ternary solutions. The establishment of optimized extraction conditions in pure solutions employed a sequential graphic optimization approach. (auth)
