Principles and instrumentation for the control of French reactors (in French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4938745
From Congress of the Society of Electrical Electronic and Radio Engineers meeting; Vittel, France (11 Sep 1973). The principles and instrumentation for the control of French reactors are actually the result of collaboration among the CEA, industry, and the EDF. This collaboration and the principles which hnve influenced the conception and the availability of the material are described. The problems of safety, availability, reliability, maintenance, and economy and the compromises among these criteria are treated. A description of the most advanced detectors and the associated electronic instrumentation both for the neutron control and for the detection of cladding ruptures is given. An analysis is given of automatic devices and the use of computers, particularly small computers for a determined function. 9 references. (tr-auth)
