Influence of phonons on low-temperature paramagnetic relaxation

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4936648
The system of nonlinear equations of Provotorov and Bloch type is derived in rigorous manner in order to consider the role of phonons in the low- temperature paramagnetic relaxation. Near the end of the relaxation process, modified Bloch equations are equivalent to those of Brya and Wagner. The thermal phonons are considered in both collisionless and collision-dominated regimes. In the collision-dominated regime thermal phonons play a sufficient role in the relaxation process. (auth)
