Production of ultracold neutrons (UCN) in a stationary reactor BBP-K (in Russian)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4936451
A source of ultracold neutrons is described, formed in a straight- through horizontal tangent channel of a stationary reactor BBP-K. The rate of counting of UCN with the converters of H/sub 2/O, ZrH/sub 1.92/,Mg, the dependence of the UCN yield on the temperature of Mg-converter, and the mean time of UCN distribution on the neutron guide tube from the converter to detector are presented. The ways of increasing the UCN yield are considered. 9 references. (auth)
