Operation of the 5.5-MV van de Graaff accelerator is reviewed. Brief accounts of experiments done with the accelerator are given. Work on instrumentation for the accelerator, such as the design of quadrupole magnet power supplies, is discussed. Ion implantation studies, particularly on Si, are recounted. Design and construction of a 2-MV tandem accelerator and an isotope separator are described. The work of the Indian nuclear data group is outlined. (24 figures, 3 tables) (RWR)
