Irradiation experiment of sodium bond carbide fuel in Rapsodie

From symposium on fuel and elements for fast reactors; Brussels, Belgium (2 Jul 1973). Work performed under United States --Euratom Fast Reactor Program. A sodium bonded fuel assembly containing 19 pins was irradiated in fast reactor Rapsodie. Several types of fuel have been tested: (U,Pu)C mixed carbides -- (U,Pu,Mo)C carbide alloy-(U,Pu)CN carbonitride -(U,Pu)N nitrides, stress being laid on the (U,Pu)C mixed carbide, as 10 fuel elements of this type have been irradiated. The results concerning the behavior of (U,Pu)Cbased fuel elements are presented. 10 references. (auth)
