Systematics in the (p,xn) and (p,pxn) reaction cross sections

A phenomenological formula depending on N, Z and A has been used earlier to calculate the cross sections of (n,2n), (p,2n) and (p,3n) reactions at constant excess energy. The validity of the formula is extended to (p,xn) reactions at 400 MeV proton energy and to (p,pxn) reactions at energies of several GeV. The formula gives good agreement between the calculated and measured cross sections. (auth)
