>From fourth international symposium on fresh water from the sea; Heidelberg, F. R. Germany (9 Sep 1973). Asymmetric cellulose acetate membranes for desalination by reverse osmosis may be prepared using anhydrous ammoria, incorporated by absorption at room temperature, as modifying additive. Membrane performance is comparable to that of formamide-modified membranes, at a considerably lower level of initial additive concentration. (auth)
