Sensitivity of fast neutron spectra and integral parameters to $sup 238$U inelastic scattering cross sections (in French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4933500
Fast neutron spectrum measurements by time-of-flight or proton recoil techniques are a new type of integral measurements permitting to adjust scattering cross sections. Important discrepancies between experimental and calculated spectra are observed, which can at least partly be attributed to errors in the /sup 238/U inelastic scattering matrix. The sensivity of the macroscopic spectra (25-group energy mesh) and integral parameters to the inelastic scattering cross sections of /sup 238/U was studied in two cases: in fundamental mode for three media with different contents of /sup 238/U and space dependent calculations in a fast core reflected by two different /sup 238/U blankets.
