This paper deals with an experimental assessment of the performance of different damping systems in controlling wind-induced conductor motions. The damping systems comprised different types of Stockbridge dampers or bretelles used on single ACSR and AAAC conductors as well as spacer-dampers or semi-rigid spacers combined or not with bretelles used on similar triple or quad bundled conductors. All tests were conducted under natural wind conditions at the Hydro-Quebec test line in Varennes, Quebec.
