Self-consistent determination of hard modes in hot QCD

We determine self-consistently the hard-quark and hard-gluon modes in hot QCD. The damping-rate part in resummed hard-quark or hard-gluon propagators, rather than the thermal-mass part, plays the dominant role. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
