The parameter k in the simple map for a single-null divertor tokamak represents the level of toroidal asymmetries. We investigate the effects resulting from change in this parameter on width of the stochastic layer, footprint of the field lines on the divertor plate, area of the footprint, edge safety factor q{sub edge}, Liapunov exponents, fraction of toroidal flux from stochastic layer diverted onto the plate, the average and median values of toroidal and the poloidal angle and length of field lines before they strike the divertor plate. These results have significant implications for the tokamak divertor physics. This work is supported by US DOE.
