An experimental study of the atomization and evaporation characteristics of liquid natural gas atomized by its own vapor is presented. Two types of sprays, the first where atomization begins right at the injector exit and the second where a liquid core exists until about 20 injector diameters were studied. Measurements include droplet size distributions, temperature field, and air entrainment rate along the sprays.
