Today`s shrinking resources demand innovative and intelligent approaches to prioritizing the military`s clean-up program. This paper describes DOD`s relative risk site evaluation concept and its execution within the Army`s Installation Restoration Program (IRP), while presenting implementation commentary, data observations, and programmatic proposals. It summarizes the Army`s relative risk data and how the US Army Environmental Center`s (USAEC) program managers use relative risk information to evaluate program requirements and sequence project work. It also makes recommendations for improving the consistency and quality of relative risk site evaluations and resulting data in the future.
