Complexes of La(III), Gd(III), Ho(III), and Yb(III) with the novel ligand, 1-((p-nitrophenyl)carboxymethyl)-4,7,10-tris(carboxymethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane were prepared. The complexes were studied by NMR spectroscopy with an emphasis toward comparisons to the closely related Ln(III)(DOTA) complexes. Relaxivity of these complexes under NMR conditions was ascertained and studies of molecular structure and dynamics were discussed.
