BS>The combined effects of perturbations due to fluctuations in the quadratic nonlinearity and nonsymmetry of the magnetic field with respect to the orbital plane (z = 0) are considered in detailed mathematical form for a synchrotron with strong focusing. Small periodic perturbations which depend on the frequency are taken into account, since they can result in large changes in amplitude at resonance frequencies. An example is worked out numerically where the total rise in amplitude of a perturbation for n phase changes per acceleration cycle is expressed as a function of the nonsymmetry of the magnetic field.
