The industrial applications of ionizing radiations appear to be most important in the flelds of biology, physics, and chemistry. The prospects for use in biology and physics are mentioned, and radiation chemistry is discussed in some detail. The mechanism, chain reactions, modification of macromolecules, economics, industrial, semilaboratory, and laboratory studies are described. (J.S.R.)
