PROGRAM ZIP, A GENERALIZED REACTOR (NUCLEAR ANALYSIS) SEQUENCE (IBM 7090)

Program ZIP, an IBM 7090 computer program which carries out a generalized reactor design sequence, is described. Given the dimensions and material composition of each region that make up the reactor and shield assembly, the program determines in one pass through the computer a reactivity consistent in two separable spatial coordinates and the corresponding normalized flax and reaction rate distributions. A sample problem and the program listing for the seven major subroutines are included. (auth)
