BS>Probes with small dimensions, operating on the principle varying magnetic fields. This principle is described together with the construction of a Hall magnetometer possessing a measurement range of 0 to 20000 gauss, subdivided into 5 stages. If the results are read off directly, the magnetometer is accurate to within 0.1% plus or minus gauss; with use of a correction curve, it is accurate to within 0.01%. With a cable length of 2 m the device is completely temperature-compensated. A remarkable feature is a special switch system which makes it possible to attain this accuracy with an electric-supply tension- constant of only 1%. This means a considerable reduction in costs.
