A simple neutron detector is designed for detecting a neutron flux in the presence of an intensive gamma flux. In the detector, the neutron flux is made to impinge on a target of fissionable material in a chamber, and the resulting fission products are swept out of the chamber by a gas stream to a detector some distance away from the neutron and gamma flux. The gas must be one relatively llttle activated by neutrons, and the detector may be of any sultable type. (D.L.C.)
