Americium/Curium Vitrification Process Development
The Savannah River Technology Center (SRTC) is conducting research and development to define the equipment design bases and process operating parameters for construction of a facility in the SRS F-Canyon Facility to vitrify an Americium (AM)-Curium (CM) nitric acid solution. The final glass form will be placed in interim storage until it can be transported to the Department of Energy (DOE) Oak Ridge Complex for recovery of the Am-CM from the glass.
