THE EFFECT OF IRRADIATION AND CHEMICAL PRETREATMENT ON THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION RATE OF SILVER PERMANGANATE (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Kinetika i Kataliz
OSTI ID:4840888
Preliminary irradiation of AgMnO/sub 4/ by Co/sup 60/ gamma rays and 200-kev x rays considerably increases the rate of thermal disintegration. The activation effects on the thermal decomposition can be explained by the radio induced formation of new phase regions. It is also shown that preliminary chemical treatment of AgMnO/sub 4/ with hydrogen sulfide and carbon oxide increases the rate of thermal decomposition. (tr-auth)
