The absorption coefficients of photons were measured at 10 Bev in CH/sub 2/ and C, and at l3.5 Bev in Li, C, Cu, and Pb. The detection system consisted of a pair spectrometer with two total-absorption lead glass Cherenkov counters. A band of gamma rays of plus or minus 11% around the center value was used. Within experimental accuracies of 2 to 5%, the results agree with theoretical values. (auth)
