PRODUCTION OF EXTRUSION BILLETS OF HIGH TEMPERATURE AIRCRAFT ALLOYS BY POWDER METALLURGY. Final Technical Engineering Report, June 1, 1959-September 15, 1960

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4839856
High-temperature super alloys, Rene' 41 and PH 15-7 Mo, for high- performance aerospace vehicle structures can be economically extruded from powder metal billets. Hydrostatic compaction was determined as the available method best suited for large billet (1.5 in. diam. and larger) preparation and the density and mechanical properties of the powder metal extrusions were within 5% of wrought metal at room temperature.
