A 360MW ADVANCED SODIUM GRAPHITE REACTOR

A preliminaiy power plant design using uranium carbide fuel elements in a 360-Mw advanced sodium graphite ieactoi was developed. It is based on modest extrapolations of Sodium Reactor Experiment and Hallam technology; major differences are in the areas of fuel specified, type of steam generator, and method of separating sodium and graphite in thc reactor. The reactor makes possible the attainment of high pressure and temperature steam required for econonic power generation. The characteristics of the reactor are tabulated. (N.W.R.)
