THE INFLUENCE OF DIETARY DEFICIENCIES ON THE SURVIVAL OF ALBINO RATS AND MICE SUBJECTED TO CONTINUOUS LOW INTENSITY RADIATION. Progress Report, March 1959-February 1960

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4839550
Research data, having both medical and surgical implications, are presented on the effects of dietary deficiencies on the survival of albino mice and rats subjected to continuous low intensity radiation. The data presented are for the following investigations: chronic gamma irradiatton effects on the weight increment of albino rats deficient in protein, chronic radiation effects in the survival of vitamin-deficient Swiss albino mice, survival of chronically irradiated mice matntained on pantothenic acid-deficient diets, chronic gamma radiation effects on avitaminotic albino rats, chronic whole-body irradiation effects on the hematology of the albino rats, blood glucose and eosinophils in the albino rat exposed to continuous low-dose gamma irradiation, and the effect of pre- and post-natal irradiation on the development of the albino rat.
