TRANSISTOR CIRCUITS FOR REMOTE BF$sub 3$ COUNTERS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4839031
A high gain pulse amplifier and a count rate meter were designed and constructed for use with a transformercoupled pulse transmission circuit to count neutrons by means of a BF/sub 3/ counter at a remote location. A pulse transformer matches the impedance of the cable with that of the amplifier, eliminating the need for a preamplifier at the counter location. Si transistors in the amplifier and count rate circuits provide high reliability and tolerance to ambient temperatures up to 60 deg C. (auth)
