A 12 cm LIQUID DEUTERIUM BUBBLE CHAMBER

Journal Article · · Nuclear Instr. & Methods

A bellows expanded bubble chamber, 12 cm in diameter, 9 cm deep, was designed for use with liquid deuterium. Good quality electron tracks were observed over the temperature range 51.2 to 14.1 deg K, with a minimum volume expansion ratio of 1.6%. It was used with the Harwell synchrocyclotron to study the interaction of 8O Mev protons with deuterons. The results are being analyzed with a modified rectangular coordinate plotter. (auth)
