EXTRACTION OF RARE EARTH NITRATES BY TRIBUTYL PHOSPHATE IN PRESENCE OF TRILON B (in Russian)

The influence of complexing agents in aqueous phase on rare earth extraction was studied. The distribution coefficients of La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd between tributyl phosphate and 8 molar NH/sub 4/NO/sub 3/ and between TBP and S molar NH/sub 4/NO/sub 3/ + trilon B were tabulated and analyzed. Separation coefficients for La -- Nd, Pr- Nd, Nd -- Sm, Nd--Y, Ho--Er, Er--Tu, Tu-Yb, and Ho- -Yb were correlated. It is shown that the presence of trilon B in aqueous phase facilitates the separation of the yttrium group by tributyl phosphate. (R.V.J.)
