Burnout data resulting from nucleate boiling and burnout experiments with both solid and tubular heating elements are presented. The temperature fluctuations produced by boiling taking place on heaters with constant power input were measured. Eleven pulse test runs were made in a loop to study film boiling. The cyclical optical scanner was used in two test measurements of the velocity of flow patterns in a boiling flow. (M.C.G.)
