PHOTOPRODUCTION OF SINGLE NEUTRAL PIONS FROM HYDROGEN AT 60 IN THE 600-1100 MEV REGION

The pi /sup 0/ cross section at 600 to 1100 Mev for the process y + p yields pi /sup 0/ + p was measured, and the measurements were extended through the third resonance using the Bremsstrahlung beam of a synchrotron. Measurements were made by counting recoil protons alone as well as proton-gamma coincidences. Results presented a clear picture of the second resonance. The third, with a comparable width, appeared to be much less prominent. (L.N.N.)
