A reactor suitable for mounting on a mobile platform is designed in which the disadvantages due to differential thermal expansion are reduced. The reactor comprises a core mounted in a pressure vessel by a first set of links, the vessel being mounted on support means by a second set of links. In this way, differential thermal expansion between core and vessel and between vessel and the framework of a ship or aircraft is allowed, and the core weight is transmitted from the first set to the second set of links, avoiding distorting loads on the vessel.
