The level of surface airborne radioactivty in Tokyo, Japan, during April 1959 to June 196l was investigated. In spring l961 and 1960, a maximum peak of aetivity was detected with an increase of 4 to 5 times of the background. The half elimination time of the storage above tropopause is estimated about 300 to 400 days. From the gamma -spectrum of the sample collected in Mar. l959, Ce/sup 144/-Pr/sup 144/, Ru/sup 106/stimated. From the lected during Feb. to July 1960, Ce/sup 144/-Pr/sup 144/, Ru/sup 106-Rh/sup 106/, cribed well-type scintillator was taken into consideration in estimating the crystal peak efficiency for gamma -spectrum assaying.
