A 200-kv COCKCROFT-WALTON TYPE ACCELERATOR USING SELENIUM RECTIFIERS

A 200-kv Cockcroft-Walton accelerator is constructed, principally to generate neutrons. Its high-tension generator consists of a one-stage voltage multiplier with two large selenium rectifiers capable of withstanding high voltage. The observed features of the voltage stabilization, ripple, and waveform are discussed by comparing them to theory. (auth)
