ON THE INELASTIC SCATTERING OF MESONS BY DEUTERONS

The formal expression for the scattering operator for meson-deuteron inelastic scattering is expanded in terms of two-particle scattering operators. The terms of this expansion which represent first- and second-order processes are explicitly evaluated and discussed. Coulomb interaction of two protons in the final state is treated. Formulas for cross sections for inelastic (without charge exchange) and charge-exchange meson-deuteron scattering are given. (auth)
