A stabilized d-c high voltage power supply using transistor circuits was developed. It was designed for supplying the high voltage io low voltage proportional counters of photomultipliers. The operating range is 900 to 1,500 v and 0 to 5 ma. Other characteristics are: internal noise, less than 50 mv; voltage stabilization factor, 2.4 x 10-3; d-c incremental internal resistance, 40 to 1,000 OMEGA ; over-all drift, less than plus or minus 0.02%/ 10 min. plus or minus 0.2%/1 hr, and plus or minus 0.25%/8 hr; stabilizing time, less than 1 min; and temperature coefficient, +0.05%/ deg C.
