THE ACTIVITY OF THE FISSION PRODUCTS OF U$sup 235$ (PROGRAM 408)

The fission product decay gamma activity for thermal fission of U/sulp 235/ is computed by integrating the data for an instantaneous fission event over a variety of reactor operating histories. The energy release rate as a function of time aftei shutdown is given for nine different reactor operating histories ranging from one to 10/sup 8/ seconds. Spectral data are presented as a cumulative distribution, which is useful in connection with Monte Carlo gamma heating computer programs. GE-ANPD code 408 is described. (W.D.M.)
