Title: THE EFFECT OF ELECTROPHILIC ADDITIVES ON THE RADIOLYTIC PRODUCTS OF ORGANIC CHAIN REACTIONS. Quarterly Report, February 1962-April 1962

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4829914

The radiation-induced reactions of propylene and isobutane adsorbed on transition metal oxide modifled silica gel surfaces were examined. The effect of initial hydrocarbon composition on the radiolytic yield is noted. The radiolysis of isobutane adsorbed on Si/O/sub 2/, Fe/sub 2/O/sub 3/-SiO/sub 2/ and NiO-SiO/s ub 2/ was also examined. There nts a striking difference in the pattern of these results when compared with the results obtained with the paraffin-olefin mixtures on these surfaces. (auth)
