The protective effects of testosterone and estradiol injections in Co/ sup 6-0/-irradiated Wistar" and SpragueDawley"rats are determined for sublethal to superlethal doses (up to 900 rad). The hematological effects and weight variations are studied in the rats up to about 40 days following the irradiation. The effects are found to differ for the male and female rats. (T.P.H.)
