EFFECT OF X-IRRADIATION ON ASCITES TUMOURS. DIFFERENCE IN RADIOSENSITIVITY AMOUNG VARIOUS TRANSPLANT STRAINS OF ASCITES HEPATOMA OF THE RAT (ENGLISH TEXT)
By comparing the x-ray dose necessary to kill l0% of the cells of every tumor strain, the individual differences in radiosensitivity of 20 strains of the rat ascites hepatomas were investigated. These tumor strains had all been common naturally in the normal ancestral cell, the liver cell. The slower growing tumors were more radiosensitive than the faster growing tumour. This result did not support Bergonie-Tribondeau' s law. X irradiation induced more remarkable damages in tumors showing more marked polymorphism of cells than in the tumors which consisted of uniform cells. No correlation was found between the radiosensitivity of tumors and their sensitivity to NH/sub 2/ derivatives, anticancer drugs. (Abstr. Japan Med., 1: No. 13,
