Some Problems Encountered in the Investigation of Gonad Doses received by Patients undergoing Dental X-ray Examinations

Journal Article · · British Journal of Radiology
An investigation was made of the gonad doses received by patients undergoing dental x-ray examinations. Experiments were made on a water-filled phantom made of neoprene with the addition of a head. The phantom was mounted on a dummy dental chair constructed to facilitate radiation measurements. A modified casette was left in position until 100 dental exposures were made and the blackening of the film was then compared with that of calibrated films exposed to single known doses of radiation. Problems encountered in the investigation are discussed. (C.H.)
