Ergodicity Conditions in Quantum Mechanics and Van Hove's Hamiltonians

Starting from a formulation of the quantum-ergodic problem, it is proven that the ergodicity conditions are satisfied for the class of Hamiltonians for which Van Hove proved a master equation. Restrictive assumptions necessary to identify the unperturbed states of Van Hove with the states omega /sub vi/ of the ergodic theory were introduced. (auth)
