BS>Polarographic estimation of niobium with tantalum in a medium of 75.5% sulfuric acid was elaborated. Two waves result from niobium reduction. Tantalum is polarographically inactive in the potential range used. This method can be applied for niobium estimation in niobium steels after the separation of oxides. Other applications are niobium estimation in high-speed steels, welds. and niobium minerals after separation of the blend of Nb/sub 2/O/sub 5/ and Ta/ sub 2/O/sub 5/. (auth)
