A NEW PRINCIPLE FOR AIRBORNE CONTAMINATION CONTROL IN CLEAN ROOMS AND WORK STATIONS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4828109
A new method is described for the control of airborne contaminants in clean rooms and work stations. The whole ceiling of the room is made of an air diffuser and the floor is made of grating with a rough filter material placed just below the grating floor. This filter traps particles as they are removed from the room and prefilters the air before it reaches the final filter. Absolute filters are located in the wall behind the work bench to move contamination generated by the worker away from the work area. A transistor telephone provides for room interior to exterior communication. Test results on a knock-down model are described. Sketches and photography show construction details. (C.H.)
