A radiation detector for monitoring radiation levels in laboratories ls described in which Geiger-Mueller courters with halogen or organic filling serve as detectors. The monitor has both optical and acoustic pulse indicators as well as an average value indicator and contains in addition a self re-setting acoustic alram. The threshold value for this may be chosen in two ranges each with six steps. (auth)
